Top 10 Musical Theatre Songs – A World In Pages

Both of us are big musical fans and after hearing a top twenty list (as voted by the listeners) on BBC Radio 2 and disagreeing with some of the choices, we thought we’d come up with our own top ten musical songs. These are not definitive lists, as our opinions change quite often depending on what we’ve listened to recently. The only rule is that the musicals have to have been on stage at some point.

Being an avid musical lover I found it so difficult to just choose one song from each musical. There were about four Hamilton songs that could have all been in my top five. In the end, it whittled down to what songs I wouldn’t skip when on shuffle and sing the loudest too.

I found it very hard to choose my top ten. Well, I knew as soon as we decided on this post what my number one was going to be. The other nine sent me into a bit of a tailspin. For each song I picked, I had five others that also could fit on my list. In the end, the live performances were what sold me on most of my choices.
