Kill Joy ~ Holly Jackson

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder is easily one of my favourite young adult series. So when I saw that Holly Jackson was bringing out a prequel for World Book Day I just knew I needed to get my hands on it.

In this prequel, we see Pippa-Fitz Amobi gearing up to go to her friend’s 1920s themed fancy dress murder mystery party. Pip really doesn’t want to go but as soon as the night begins she finds herself drawn in by the deception surrounding the case. Pip goes full detective mode teasing out all the clues and motives of her fellow players. Although you get the sense that maybe this isn’t the only case on her mind.

I loved seeing what happened in the time running up to the main events of the first book A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder. You can really see the detective flame being ignited inside Pip and for just over 100 pages it gave such an awesome insight into what made her choose her EPQ subject.

Reading this is one sitting, I couldn’t put it down and it has made me even more excited for the third instalment which comes out later in the year on August 5th. I gave it a 4.5⭐️ rating.
