The Wicked + The Divine Vol 1 ~ Kieron Gillen

Since jumping on the graphic novel band wagon I have found it very hard to get off. So I dived straight into another recommendation from a friend at work. The Wicked + The Divine, Vol 1: The Faust is classed as urban fantasy and follows twelve gods who every ninety years are incarnated as humans. By many they are loved but also hated. This group of superhumans is known as ‘The Pantheon’ with each member being chosen to merge with the spirit of a particular deity. Each cycle of ‘The Pantheon’ only lasts two years. The series is largely influenced by pop music and various mythological deities. 

Although it took me much longer to get to grips with this storyline line by the end of the first volume I was very intrigued by what might happen next. I haven’t fallen in love with the characters just yet but I definitely will be given volume two read in the future. The Wicked + The Divine Vol 1 got a 3 ⭐️ rating from me.
