Eve of Man Trilogy ~ Giovanna & Tom Fletcher

I initially read Eve of Man back in June 2018 shortly after it was released. This book was highly anticipated for me as a big lover of both Giovanna and Tom Fletcher, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. In the last couple of days I have recently re-read this first instalment of the Eve of Man trilogy due to the fact that the second book has been released, named The Eve Illusion. I decided to re-read the first book because although I remembered the basics of the story I felt I just needed a refresher before diving into the second book.

This dystopian young adult novel is written in dual narrative. We follow the stories of both Eve and Bram. Eve is the first girl to be born in 50 years after female existence came to a halt. All her life Eve has been monitored, tested, analysed and also most importantly kept away from the opposite sex. Now 16, she must face her destiny, three boys have been selected. The future of humanity is in her hands. But will her new-found relationship with Bram cause her to question everything she’s ever known.

Now having finished both the first and the second book in the trilogy I absolutely cannot wait until the third instalment is released. Which is due to come out next year.

If you loved both the story and the characters of the first book I think the second book will enthrall you. The way in which the Fletchers develop the characters from the initial story makes you feel an array of emotions. I couldn’t believe the lengths in which some of them would go to get what they desired. I will warn you though the second book is definitely a little darker than the first. There are some pages which are a little uncomfortable to read but these moments only add to the world being created before your eyes.

Without a doubt both these books get a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars from me.
