Web of Darkness ~ Bali Rai

I previously read Web of Darkness when I was at secondary school when it was shortlisted for a book award that my school library took part in every year.

Web of Darkness by Bali Rai follows Lily who is struggling to make it through her GCSEs when her school is rocked by a spell of sudden suicides that all see too hard to believe. Her group of friends take it upon themselves to find the truth is this chilling read that I think all teenagers should read.

This book covers some very hard hitting topics but those that are prevalent to help keep teenagers safe online. This book is laced with such frightful realities that it’s hard not to think that you are reading a true story. I was absolutely enthralled as I had been the first time around and I loved how life like these characters were. They oozed what teenagers are really like and made Bali Rai’s writing just even more gripping.

I highly recommend that everyone reads this book. It will cut you deep and have a hold on you till the very end but when you finally come up for air your eyes will be wide open to what social media really can do.

Web of Darkness was a 4⭐️ star read for me and I am very interested in reading some of Rai’s other books.
