The House on Hoarder Hill ~ Kelly Ngai and Mikki Lish

This book follows siblings Hedy and Spencer who have been shipped of to stay with their grandad who lives in the house on hoarder hill. This isn’t just any house and the two soon realise that it holds decades of secrets. The house starts leaving them messages as they get thrown into the mission of solving the mysterious disappearance of their grandmother. Their magician grandfather is the most mysterious of all, but alongside some talking objects, they fight to find the truth that has been haunting their family for generations.

This book came highly recommended by Claire after she read it last year, so I picked it up from the library when I spotted it on a recent visit. I have really fallen in love with middle-grade fiction this year and The House on Hoarder Hill has definitely been one of the best I’ve read in 2021. The characters are so loveable and you really root for them throughout the entirety of the book. I was also really intrigued by the magical elements within this book which definitely gave this read some added charm.

The House of Hoarder Hill got a 4.5⭐️ rating from me!
