Confessions: The Private School Murders ~ James Patterson & Maxine Paetro

This is the second instalment of The Confessions series and I loved it just as much if not more than the first book. We follow Tandy Angel and her siblings just three months after the death of their parents. Matthew is still in prison awaiting charges and they are hanging on to their beloved home at the Dakota by a thread. Whilst desperately trying to prove her brother’s innocence, private school girls are being found murdered and only Tandy can see the connection. Tandy is trying to keep so many plates spinning and now that she is completely off of the tablets her parents gave her throughout her childhood she is starting to get flashbacks. Flashbacks of that boy, the boy she believed were only a figment of her imagination. She soon realises that he is real and adds trying to find him to her endless list of tasks.

Tandy only continued to flourish in this sequel. We really started to see the real her and not the robotic child her parents had moulded her into. As a character, I really felt for her and wanted nothing more than to find James and be reunited with him. It was amazing to watch her be re-introduced to him through her memories coming back and fall in love with him all over again. I also loved the addition of the new character that is Jacob. He is ex-military and becomes the Angel children’s guardian. He has many secrets of his own but above he will do everything in his power to protect these children. Something they have never had from a parent figure before. I was all consumed by this read and gave it a 4.25 ⭐️ rating and I cannot wait to get my hands on the third instalment of the series. I really don’t want it to end!
