Confessions: The Murder of an Angel ~ James Patterson & Maxine Paetro

The Murder of an Angel is the fourth and final instalment in the Confessions series by Patterson and Paetro. Having loved the first three books I was hoping for a grand finale for the Angel family but to say the book was a little lacklustre would be an understatement.

Tandoori Angel has been through so much torment after losing her parents, the love of her life James and now is being made to think she’s losing her mind. With a stalker on her hands, she is constantly looking over her shoulder but her ultimate goal is to bring down the family company, Angel Pharmaceuticals, and her Uncle Peter in particular.

For me, this book just felt so rushed and incomplete. Books one, two and three were filled with so much suspense, mystery and plot twists but this final book seemed to lack all of these previous elements. From the off, it felt quite obvious who the ultimate culprit was and the pages seemed to me filled with so much filler content that not actually that much happened in the 275 pages. Ultimately, I did not feel like we received the closure that was deserved. The main plotline of her family’s business was resolved but there were so many subplots that seemed to be left unfinished. Especially, why James left her after all their time apart and what really happened to Katherine, who was the father of her son. I could probably say so much more but ultimately I just feel disappointed that a series that had a fresh and gripping plotline hasn’t had the final book it probably deserved. I gave Confessions: The Murder of an Angel a 2.5 ⭐️ rating.
