California, Nevada and Oregon

WHAT

Abducted, sexually abused and murdered 10 victims (mostly teenagers) which they kept as sex slaves.

HOW

Many were forced into vehicles at gunpoint after the promise of marijuana. Murdered by either bludgeoning or gunshot.

WHY

Gerald: potential sexual gratification.

Charlene: claimed brainwashing by Gerald.

NOW

Charlene’s initial sentence was reduced after a plea deal was taken to testify against Gerald. She has now served her full sentence and has since been released. Gerald was sentenced to death and died in 2002 due to cancer whilst awaiting execution.
