Reading Slump Tag

Whilst scrolling through Booktube we found this tag and as it’s gotten to the point of the year that we both fall into reading slumps, so we thought this tag would be appropriate. The original tag was made by Hugo Reads.

  1. Do reading slumps happen to you a lot?

M: More often than I would like to admit.

C: I don’t know, it tends to be related to what’s going on in my personal life.

  1. How long was your longest reading slump?

M: Probably a month or so. 

C: about three weeks, probably.

  1. Name one book that got you out of a slump.

M: Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson

C: The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

  1. Name one book that got you into a slump.

M: Swimming Lessons by Claire Fuller

C: The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

  1. What other things do you do when you’re in a reading slump?

M: Sims 4.

C: I pick up new hobbies, mostly craft-based.

  1. While in a slump, do you still watch a lot of booktube?

M: I watch more whilst in a slump.

C: Same, I don’t tend to watch a lot generally, but then in a slump I watch quite a bit.

  1. What’s what one tip to get out of a slump?

M: Currently, I always go back to the same series in my preferred genre that I’m making my way through.

C: I tend to go for children’s books that are predictable.

  1. What’s a good book recommendation to get out of a slump?

M: DI Kim Stone series by Angela Marsons

C: Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz
