And Then There Were None ~ Agatha Christie

I have quite a few Agatha Christie books in my kindle library and most of them have been there for a very long time and for some reason I’ve never read any of Christie’s books. I’ve enjoyed watching the adaptations (most recently the ABC Murders with Rupert Grint), so I thought it was past time that I actually read some.

And Then There Were None is a murder mystery where eight guests get invited to an island by the mysterious U.N.Owen, all for different reasons. Once they get there the host is nowhere in sight and the two staff have never met their employer. It’s not long until someone is murdered.

We all know how these stories go, they get murdered one by one until the culprit is caught. And it felt a little like reading a Scooby Doo mystery. I was half expecting the characters to find the monster and pull off the mask to find someone they knew all along. Obviously, it wasn’t like that but it was a fun read.

I started reading this book very casually and found that the amount of characters introduced one after the other with their own little backstory was a little bit confusing. I couldn’t keep up with who was who until I got further into the book.

I had my theories about who was behind the theories, but like I said I was reading this story casually so I didn’t really bother trying too hard to figure it out. It still wasn’t too much of a surprise when it was revealed.

Overall I give And Then There Were None three stars. It was a fun book too read but had a few too many characters at the beginning and was a little bit cliche.
